Boston Community Transport has announced a major boost to its services after securing five years of support from the National Lottery, a milestone the team describes as “wonderful news” and “incredibly humbling.”
The funding will allow the charity to continue delivering vital community transport services across the Borough of Boston, helping residents access essential appointments, shopping, social activities, and more.
The organisation says the award is a testament to the dedication of its volunteers and staff, whose efforts have strengthened the service and ensured it remains a lifeline for many local people.
Angela Gould, Office Manager for Boston Community Transport said: “This is a huge testament to the effort put in by all our volunteers and staff, and the support of our local community. To be recognised by the National Lottery as a worthwhile project to invest in for the next five years is very humbling. We’re thrilled that this funding means we can continue to provide our transport service to those who need it most.”
Nicola Thurbon, Senior Head of Regional Funding at The National Lottery Community Fund said: “We’re proud to support groups like Boston Community Transport, who are providing a vital service to isolated people in the Boston area. The project is making a real, lasting difference and bringing their community together.
“It’s all made possible thanks to National Lottery players. We look forward to seeing how this project continues to help vulnerable people stay connected over the next five years.”
Angela also issued thanks to everyone who plays the National Lottery, adding: “Thank you to all the supporters who buy a ticket each week. Your contribution helps support small but vital charities like ours – and we really do appreciate it.”
The new funding secures the long-term future of the service and ensures it can continue supporting residents for years to come.
