Boston Town held onto top spot in the table after this battling point at Eastwood.

They ended the game with 10 men after Jordan Tate was shown a red card after referee Ryan Jones deemed that he had handled the ball and denied a goalscoring opportunity.

The hosts had taken the lead after just four minutes through Tyler Blake’s near post header.

But Layton Maddison slotted home Matt Cotton’s cross after 41 minutes to restore parity.

After suffering three consecutive defeats in October, Chris Funnell’s side are now unbeaten in four league games and are a point clear at the top of the United Counties League Premier North division.

However, second-placed Sherwood Colliery have games in hand and could go above them on Tuesday.

Next up for the Poachers is a home league fixture against promotion rivals Kimberley MW on Saturday (29 November). Kick-off at the Mortgages For You Stadium will be 3pm.

The new club shop will be open for business once more and the November 100 Club draw will take place after the game. There’s also a race night in the clubhouse from 6.30pm.
