Lincolnshire County Council’s 10 new Mercedes Benz Callconnect buses go live across the county
LCC’s Callconnect on-demand bus services in Spalding, Grantham, Horncastle, Louth and Lincoln now has 10 new Mercedes Benz Cityline 517 Pro buses to make journeys even better.
These 16-seater buses, paid for with Dft grant funding, are an upgrade on the previous vehicles providing low-level floors and access ramps for improved accessibility whilst also including more features such as air conditioning and USB-enabled charging to improve the passenger experience.
These buses will form part of the Callconnect bookable and timetabled services which reach rural communities not accessible by other forms of public transport.
Mike Reed, Head of Transport of LCC said: “It is a real pleasure see these vehicles ready to start serving people.
“Securing funding to invest in new Callconnect buses demonstrates Lincolnshire County Council’s commitment to rural public transport.”
Callconnect is an on-demand bus service. Since 2001 Callconnect served hamlets, villages and market towns throughout Lincolnshire and neighbouring counties with our flexible booking system, plus a number of timetabled services. We offer passengers the flexibility to connect to their local communities and other transport options.
The service runs from Monday to Saturday and is bookable and also operates on a timetable. The buses run from 07.00 to 19.00 Monday to Friday and from 08.00 to 18.00 on Saturday.
There is a straightforward £1, £2 and £3 fare structure, which is bookable on both the Callconnect and citymapper apps, available on Google Play and the App Store.
