Zak Munton scored his first goal since August as Boston Town earned a point at in-form Belper United.

The 2-2 draw was enough to keep the Poachers in second place in the United Counties League Premier North.

But they’ll feel frustrated not to have won after leading 2-0 at the break.

Matt Cotton kept up his hot scoring streak by giving the visitors the lead with a bullet header after 35 minutes.

That’s now a remarkable 20 goals already this season for the for the Lincoln United man.

The second goal came from Munton, who signed from Bourne Town in the summer after helping them earn promotion last season, but has been plagued by injury for much of the last three months.

He capitalised on a defensive error after 40 minutes to make it 2-0 at the interval.

But within 12 minutes of the restart, Belper were level.

First Keaton August pulled one back after catching the visitors cold at the very start of the second half.

Then Daniel Odunaiya tapped home the rebound after James Leverton had made the initial save.

After four away games in a row, the Poachers are at home for their next two fixtures.

On Tuesday (11 November) they entertain Harrowby United at the Mortgages For You Stadium. Kick-off is 7.45pm.

Then leaders Sherwood Colliery will be the visitors on Saturday (15 November) for what could be a crucial top-of-the-table clash. Kick-off that day is 3pm.
