William Lovell Church of England Academy has announced an exciting step forward in digital learning, with every pupil set to receive their own iPad as part of the Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust’s (LAAT) ambitious new digital strategy.

The initiative, which officially launches on 10th November, aims to ensure that all students have equal access to the tools, skills, and knowledge needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Each pupil will receive an iPad, protective cover, and a guide promoting safe and responsible use, with information events planned for both pupils and parents ahead of the rollout.

“This initiative is about more than just technology; it’s about giving every student equal access to opportunities that will shape their future,” said Mrs Bennett, Headteacher at William Lovell. “By providing every pupil with their own iPad, we’re breaking down barriers to learning and empowering our young people to achieve their very best. It’s a privilege to be one of the first LAAT schools to launch this ambitious programme.”

The project is part of a three-year vision by LAAT to provide digital devices for all children in Year 3 and above across its 23 schools. Younger pupils in Early Years and Key Stage 1 will also begin their digital journey using iPads within the classroom, preparing them for future learning.

Jackie Waters-Dewhurst, CEO of LAAT, added: “Digital technology is now a central part of life, and we want our pupils to have not only the skills and knowledge they need to succeed but also the tools to make the most of every learning opportunity. Being part of LAAT means every child is seen, valued, and supported to flourish.”

The academy’s partnership with Apple marks a major milestone for education in the Boston area, placing William Lovell at the forefront of digital innovation in Lincolnshire’s schools.
