Fundraising efforts are in full swing to support the Worshipful The Mayor of Boston, Cllr Barrie Pierpoint’s five chosen local charities.
Through a variety of events, raffles, and generous donations, the Mayor’s Fundraising Committee is working hard to raise vital funds for causes that make a real difference in the community.
This year’s supported charities are:
- Boston Foodbank – Providing essential food support and free lunches for children during school holidays.
- Boston Men’s Shed – A welcoming space for men to connect, share skills, and support one another.
- Centrepoint Outreach – Supporting vulnerable and homeless individuals across Boston.
- Headway Lincolnshire – Offering specialist counselling and support for those affected by brain injuries.
- Support Group for Adults with Autism – Creating community and resources for autistic adults.
All funds raised will be shared equally among these five charities.
Upcoming fundraising events include:
Wednesday 8 October – Vegetarian Supper and Raffle – Location: Willoughby Allotments – Time: 7pm – Tickets: £20 per person
Saturday 15 November – Afternoon Tea – Location: St Botolph’s Church – Time: 3pm – Tickets: £19 per person
Santa’s Grotto – Christmas Festival & Weekends in December – Location: Pescod Square – Details: £5 to see Santa, includes a gift for every child
Cllr Barrie Pierpoint said: “Please do come and support the Mayor’s Fundraising Committee in raising money for these fantastic local causes. Whether it’s attending an event, donating raffle prizes, or organising your own fundraiser, every contribution helps.
“I’ve reached out to schools and will be contacting local businesses to encourage their involvement. Our committee is made up of dedicated volunteers, all working together to support these charities that do so much for Boston and the Borough.
