A large-scale cannabis grow has been uncovered in Boston after police discovered around 400 plants inside a property on the corner of Sleaford Road and Carlton Road.
Officers descended on the address late on Sunday evening, with several police vehicles and uniformed officers spotted by members of the public.
By Monday morning, forensic teams were seen working at the address, wearing protective suits as they carefully documented evidence. A police scene guard has been placed at the property and remains in place as officers continue their investigation.
Lincolnshire Police confirmed the discovery, describing it as a “significant find” in the ongoing fight against organised drug crime in the county.
The plants are now being seized and specialist teams are dismantling the growing equipment inside. Police have not yet confirmed whether any arrests have been made in connection with the discovery.
A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “We were called to a property on Sleaford Road in Boston at 9pm. Officers discovered around 400 cannabis plants. A scene guard is in place and investigations are ongoing. Incident 436 on Sunday, 7 September.”
The force confirmed that no arrests have been made at this point, however investigations are ongoing. It is understood that adaptions had been made to the property.
Lincolnshire has seen a growing number of cannabis factories uncovered in recent years, with police regularly urging members of the public to remain vigilant. Signs of a potential cannabis grow can include covered windows, a constant strong smell, and unusual activity at a property.
