Students across Boston are celebrating an exceptional set of GCSE results this year, with schools across the town praising the achievements, resilience and ambition of their Year 11 pupils.

Boston High School reported another year of outstanding success, with 97% of students achieving a grade 4 or above in both English and Mathematics, and 77% securing a grade 5 or higher. Results in the sciences were particularly strong, alongside impressive outcomes in creative and practical subjects. In several areas, more than half of all grades awarded were grade 6 or above, including Business Studies, English Literature, History, Religious Studies, French, Chemistry, Art, Physics, Design & Technology, Music, Photography, Biology, Food & Nutrition, and Spanish.

Headteacher, Andrew Fulbrook said: “We are incredibly proud of our students’ achievements. These results reflect their hard work, resilience, and commitment, supported by our dedicated staff and the wider school community. We look forward to seeing our students take the next steps in their educational journey with confidence and ambition.”

High-achieving students included Vanessa, who sat 12 GCSEs with an average grade of 9, and a host of others including Emaan, Mariam, Jaina, Maira, Emily, Eshal, Nina, Banafsha, Bia, Maria and Raheen, all averaging grade 8 across their subjects.

Giles Academy also celebrated success across its wide curriculum of 18 GCSE and BTEC subjects. Students particularly excelled in Food Technology, Health & Social Care, Religious Studies and Sport Science, with strong improvements also seen in French and Performing Arts.

Mrs Lucy Conley, Chief Executive Officer of South Lincolnshire Academies Trust, praised students’ efforts: “Since joining South Lincolnshire Academies Trust in September 2020, Giles Academy students have continually improved. This set of results is a testament to the incredible hard work of our students and staff, and reflects the students’ hard work and commitment to their studies.

“As a Trust with non-selective schools, I am immensely proud of the achievements of every single student who have grown into amazing young people with bright futures. The results across all the schools that are part of South Lincolnshire Academies Trust demonstrates our commitment to school improvement, and we offer students in Lincolnshire the best opportunities possible and help them to aspire to be the best they can be. I wish all our students the very best in the next phase of their educational endeavours whether this be Sixth Form, College or an apprenticeship.”

At Boston Grammar School, headteacher John McHenry described this year’s GCSE cohort as “exemplary in all respects,” crediting the hard work and persistence of students, parents and teachers alike. He highlighted superb individual performances from pupils including Ollie Cooper, Dion Don, Daniel Featherstone, Lukas Fernandes, Jakub Fugas, Alexey Glavcev, Matthew Hunt, Henry Lawman, Jaroslavs Lepeho, Deniss Marcenko, Matas Naginevicius, Morgan Prynn, Ksawier Strzalkowski, Ignas Vasilevskis, Seth Walton and Thomas Woods.

Mr McHenry said: “The five years since they joined BGS have flown by and they’ve flourished throughout that time. It’s great to see so many students obtaining well deserved results and moving on to A-levels, apprenticeships or other next steps in their careers. Proof that hard work and persistence pay off! The partnership between students, teachers and parents has played an integral role in securing success too, as it always does.”

“At a time when it is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain the higher GCSE grades, these students excelled. Our congratulations go to all students, parents and staff who worked so hard to make these outstanding achievements possible! We wish each student every success in the future.”

Meanwhile, Thomas Middlecott Academy in Kirton celebrated the courage and ambition shown by its students. Principal Lisa Hawkins said:

“We are extremely proud of our students and their GCSE examination results this year. Each student has worked hard and risen to the challenge demonstrating true courage, ambition and aspiration throughout their time at TMA. It was very pleasing to see our 4+ and 5+ basics in English and Maths increasing from the previous year’s results. These results are a testament to our students’ commitment, hard work, and dedication over the past five years.

“I would like to thank teachers and support staff who have worked with passion to ensure our students are able to progress onto their next educational journey. We would like to congratulate all our Year 11 students and wish the class of 2025 the very best of luck for the future.”
