Over 20 tractors, both vintage and modern, thundered through the Lincolnshire countryside on Sunday as the Lincolnshire Ladies Tractor Run went ahead despite torrential downpours.
The determined group of women, dressed in pink and smiles, departed Alchemy Farm in Sibsey and travelled a picturesque yet soggy route through the villages of Benington, Butterwick and Frieston, turning plenty of heads along the way. The run made a pit stop at the Danny Flear Community Centre before continuing through Priory Road, Eastwood Road, Kingsway, Fishtoft Road and Fishtoft village. The final leg saw the convoy head back to Sibsey via Holtoft End, Long Hedges and finished at their starting point, Alchemy Farm.
Over £3,000 was raised on the day for Cancer Research UK, with additional sponsorship money still to come. The grand total will be revealed during a special presentation evening in September.
Organiser Julie Mason said: “We couldn’t have asked for a more determined group of women today. The weather was absolutely against us, but the spirits were sky-high. The support from people in every village we passed through was incredible, even with umbrellas and wellies! To raise over £3,000 on the day is just amazing, we’re so grateful to everyone who donated, cheered us on, and of course to our fantastic tractor drivers.”
Residents lined the route waving and clapping as the brightly decorated tractors passed, many with messages in honour of loved ones affected by cancer.
Julie added, “Rain or shine, we’ll be back in 2026, bigger, better, and louder!”
Donations are still being accepted via the Lincolnshire Ladies Tractor Run fundraising page.
