Fire crews from across the county were called to Dovecot Lane in Leverton on Sunday morning after a cow became trapped in a ditch.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue confirmed that crews from Boston, Skegness, Kirton, and Spalding, including the Technical Rescue Vehicle based at Spalding Fire Station, attended the scene at 11:24am.

Using a combination of manpower, specialist animal rescue equipment, and farm machinery provided by a local farmer, crews worked together to safely lift the animal to safety.

The cow was successfully rescued without injury. The incident highlights the crucial role of Lincolnshire’s Technical Rescue Unit and the value of teamwork between emergency services and the rural community.
