Eight vehicles have been seized by Lincolnshire Police following a clampdown on untaxed vehicles along Broadfield Lane in Boston.
The enforcement action was carried out last week as part of a joint operation between the local Neighbourhood Policing Team and Boston Borough Council. Officers visited businesses in the area on Monday, 1st July, warning that untaxed vehicles must be removed from roads and footpaths.
However, police confirmed the warning was not fully complied with, which led to a planned operation that resulted in eight vehicles being seized by Wakefield Autos on Thursday, 10th July.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “Council officers attended all businesses in the Broadfield Lane area of Boston last week to ask that all untaxed vehicles were removed from the roads and footpaths. This warning was not fully complied with, and as a result, officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team conducted a planned joint operation with Boston Borough Council, which has led to the seizure of eight vehicles. One of them had not been taxed since 2016.”
The incident was recorded as incident 149 of 10 July. Boston Borough Council was approached to comment on the operation but didn’t reply after .
Lincolnshire Police are reminding all motorists and business owners that vehicles must be properly taxed if kept on public roads or footpaths, warning that enforcement action will continue where necessary.
