South Lincolnshire Academies Trust, which operates Giles Academy in Old Leake and Cowley Academy in Donington, has celebrated the achievements of its latest cohort of Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
Across the Trust’s schools, 37 ECTs are currently completing their training, split between first and second years. At the end of term, those in their second year — known as ECT2s — were recognised for successfully completing their two-year statutory induction period.
To mark the milestone, the Trust hosted a special graduation event at Spalding Academy. Alongside celebrating their achievements, the event gave ECT2s the chance to reflect on their final training module and share experiences with colleagues from other Trust schools.
Mrs Bland, who leads the Trust’s ECT induction programme and the SLAT Teaching School, commented:
“We had a wonderful event celebrating the successes of our ECT2 cohort. They have been incredibly dedicated to their induction and have invigorated the wider staff teams with their innovative ideas and excellent practice. We are very lucky to have such dynamic and engaging staff teaching in our schools, and the event was an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the contribution of these individuals.”
The ECT programme is just one of the many high-quality training opportunities available within South Lincolnshire Academies Trust. Through its partnership with Lincolnshire ITT, the Trust also supports initial teacher training, offering placements at its own schools and other secondary schools across Lincolnshire and Peterborough.
