Thousands gathered at Boston Town Central Park on Saturday 5th July, to celebrate Boston College’s milestone 60th anniversary with SparkFest – a vibrant, family-friendly festival that brought the community together for a day filled with music, entertainment, hands-on activities, and celebration.
The free event, open to all, welcomed past, present, and future students, families, and local residents to enjoy a jam-packed day of live performances, college showcase zones, delicious food stalls, and community market traders. From Boston College race car displays to construction challenges, live animation activities and photo studio to face painting and giant inflatables – SparkFest delivered fun for all ages.
The celebration highlighted not only the College’s 60 years of educational brilliance but also the talents of its current students. College students took to the stage to perform and supported behind the scenes with event photography and videography – putting their creative and technical skills to excellent use as part of the day’s media team.
Headline acts included DJ Karl Reed, Rae Welch, Allie Argent, Milk and Honey, No Relevance, Kings & Bears, and DJ Danny Allgood (DJA), lighting up the stage and energising the crowd throughout the day.
Organisers were delighted with the huge turnout and the sense of community spirit that filled the park. A special thank you was extended to the talented performers, local traders, catering teams, volunteers, and especially the college staff and students whose energy and dedication made the day a resounding success.

Boston College thanks everyone who joined the celebration and looks forward to building even more connections in the years to come.
