Lincolnshire Police are investigating an assault in Boston which left a man with serious injuries.

The incident is believed to have taken place during the early hours of Thursday morning (3 July) outside JD Wetherspoon on the High Street. The victim, a man in his 30s, sustained serious head injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remains.

The road remained closed through the early hours into the morning, reopening shortly before 9am.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and was taken to custody.

The force has said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident, however enquiries are ongoing.
