The organisers of Boston Bike Night, has issued the following statement:
“We are in communication with officers from Lincolnshire Police with regards to this road closure, to establish a time frame for the closure ahead of tonight’s Boston Bike Night, which would be utilising this route as the exit from the Market Place.
“We will update our plans and communications when a timescale or plan has been finalised.“

Local businesses have already been impacted by the disruption. Popular butcher and food outlet Mountains Boston Sausage took to social media to notify customers of a delayed opening:
“Due to an ongoing police incident on High Street, the Boston town centre shop will not be open until late morning or when advised to do so by police. Our other shops at East Heckington and Dobbies Garden Centre are open as normal.”
08.15am - Initial Story
A section of Boston’s High Street has been cordoned off by Lincolnshire Police this morning following an ongoing incident.
Officers have closed off access to part of the town centre while investigations are underway. Police have not yet confirmed the nature of the incident, but a significant presence remains in place, including uniformed officers and police vehicles surrounding the area.
Members of the public are being asked to avoid the area while police continue their enquiries. Traffic is being diverted and some pedestrians have reported difficulty accessing nearby shops and services.
Lincolnshire Police have been approached for comment.
