Boston United Supporters Association have launched a GoFundMe donation page to help raise funds for the club’s upcoming pitch renovations.
As shared on their campaign page, the teams have a fantastic pitch at the Jakemans Community Stadium, and quite possibly one of the best in the league.
The club’s groundsman, Jim and his team, work incredibly hard all year round to maintain and improve the playing surface. They work to a five-year plan and with this being year five, it means the whole pitch will need to be fully renovated, coming at a cost of over £60,000 to the club.
The Supporters Association have decided to set up a donation campaign to help raise funds towards this pitch renovation work, hoping to initially raise £30,000, with BUSA pledging the first £5,000 to the pot. If they surpass this figure they will continue to raise the total in the hope they can hit the £60,000 target.
Steve Slater, chair of BUSA, shared: “We hope you agree this is a very worthwhile cause. With the club going full-time next season, we know they will have other things on which to spend their funds. If we can take the pressure off them and allow Jim to complete this vital piece of work, then we are sure they will appreciate all of our support.”
