Police were called to Argyle Street around 4.30pm last night following multiple sightings of a male carrying what appeared to be a long bladed weapon near to the Korzinka store.
Multiple units attended the street, closing it to both traffic and pedestrians between the Carlton Road and Brothertoft Road junctions which the suspect was apprehended.
A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “A 16-year-old boy has been charged with possession of a knife in a public place. He was arrested yesterday (10 April) evening on Argyle Street in Boston. The knife was located and seized by Armed Firearms Officers (AFO) who were deployed to the incident. The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been bailed and will appear in court at a later date.”
MP for Boston and Skegness, Richard Tice, who was closeby to the area posted on his social media channels: “Boston yesterday… one street from me. Huge machete held by gentlemen… Many thanks to Lincs Police for rapid response! Lawless Britain…”
