The cause of a house fire which ripped through a residential property on Albert Street on Saturday night has been confirmed as a suspected cannabis grow by police.
A statement issued by Lincolnshire Police said: “We were called, along with other emergency services, to the scene of a house fire on Albert Street, Boston at 6.21pm on Saturday 15 March. No injuries were reported.
“The property is presently deemed structurally unsafe to enter. Investigations are proceeding and we can confirm that this is the scene of a suspected cannabis grow.”
A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue added: “Unfortunately a fire investigation could not be carried out due to the structural integrity of the building.”
Multiple fire crews from the area, including Boston, Kirton, Donington, Leverton and Spalding were accompanied by an Aerial Ladder Platform and multiple police units about 6pm on Saturday night following a call regarding a property on fire.
The large response from the emergency services resulted in the closure of Carlton Road throughout the night whilst the blaze was brought under control, with smoke seen high into the air across the Boston area.
