 Happy New Year!

I hope you had a wonderful festive season and are feeling refreshed for the year ahead.

December was a busy and rewarding month, starting with a visit to our hardworking postal workers in Boston. It was fantastic to meet so many dedicated individuals who provide such an essential service, especially during the festive season. My very first job was in a sorting office back in my teenage years, and while technology has advanced significantly since then, it remains a tough and demanding role. A huge thank you to all the men and women who work tirelessly to keep our postal services running smoothly.

I also had the chance to visit Irby and Bratoft Village Hall to meet with local residents. These conversations were incredibly informative, and we’re already working on several key issues raised during the meeting. Over the coming months, I’ll be hosting more of these sessions across the constituency. We’ve already contacted village halls and parish councils to arrange further meetings, so if you or your group would like to set something up, please get in touch at Richard.tice.mp@parliament.uk.

Another important visit was to Pilgrim Hospital, where I saw first-hand their preparations for managing the challenges of winter. The dedication and professionalism of the staff were truly commendable. I also travelled to Lincoln to follow up on concerns raised about emergency response times in Boston. The work being carried out by the East Midlands Ambulance Service is genuinely impressive, but as always, there’s room for improvement. Thank you to the team for their warm welcome and open discussions.

In December, I was also invited to join the Women in Business Lunch, where I met an inspiring group of local business owners from a variety of industries. These entrepreneurs are driving growth, creating jobs, and adding so much value to our local economy. However, it’s clear that businesses are facing significant challenges—taxes are too high, and red tape is holding them back. I’m actively working on several areas raised during this event to ensure we make it easier for our local entrepreneurs to thrive.

I was also invited to the Skegness Toy Drive at The Hideout Café and Bar—an incredibly valuable initiative that ensured children in need received gifts over Christmas. A heartfelt thank you to the organisers, volunteers, and everyone who contributed. It was truly heartwarming to see the community come together for such a meaningful cause.

As we step into 2024, I’m looking forward to building on these engagements, addressing key local issues, and continuing to work hard for our community. If there’s anything you’d like to raise, discuss, or bring to my attention, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Here’s to a positive and productive year ahead!
