A house fire on a Boston street has seen Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue service issue a warning to nearby residents.

The fire, which broke out on Lime Grove, Fishtoft this afternoon engulfed a residential house in flames and caused damage to 2 further properties adjacent, seeing appliances from Boston, Kirton, Donington and Spilsby attend accompanied by the Aerial Ladder Platform from Lincoln.

A post on the service’s official X channel encouraged all residents in the area to keep windows shut.

East Midlands Ambulance Service attended to ensure nearby residents and those affected were okay.

Lincolnshire Police also sent multiple units to the incident.

Cadent have shut the gas supply off to the area as a precautionary measure.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said: “We still have 4 crews in attendance, the Aerial Ladder Platform is no longer there though. This is a fire affecting three 2-storey terraced properties, with the fire located in the middle property. The incident is ongoing though I believe it’s winding down now.”

Businesses have offered support to residents impacted by the tragedy, with local hotel provider Smartmove Hotels taking to social media to offer accommodation to those left homeless. A post on their Facebook page said: “We are deeply saddened to hear of this devastating house fire in Fishtoft.

“If anyone knows whose houses were damaged, please let us know so we can provide some emergency accommodation over night.”

MP for Boston and Skegness, Richard Tice MP also posted about his concerns for safety of neighbouring residents, posting “We are aware of a major fire on Lime Grove, Fishtoft involving 2 residential houses. Please ensure that your windows are closed if you live nearby.

“Emergency services are on the scenes, and we are monitoring the situation.

“Thoughts and prayers to those involved.”
