Boston’s Christmas Tree has been delivered this afternoon and installed in the shadows of St. Botolph’s Church, beside the Herbert Ingram Memorial.

The giant 30 foot tree has been kindly sponsored by Metsä Wood, will be a focal point throughout the festive season, and will be decorated and illuminated in the coming days, ahead of the popular Christmas Light Switch On and Boston Borough Council’s Christmas Extravanagza taking place toward the end of next week.

Councillor Dale Broughton, Portfolio Holder for Town Centre including Events said: “It’s wonderful to see the tree arriving today ahead of the festive period and our celebrations which begin in Friday, November 29. We are very grateful to Metsa Wood who has very kindly sponsored the tree.

“This is the beginning of Christmas in Boston and I’m sure everyone is as excited as I am about what this year is going to bring.

“The three-day event will include a Christmas Market, live music, ice rink and so much more. Last year was brilliant and I hope everyone is planning on paying a visit to enjoy celebrating the spirit of the season with us.”

More details about the town’s festive line up will be released over the weekend.
