Autumn is just around the corner and the events team at Bell’s Pumpkin Patch are hard at work creating fantastic new features and displays for visitors to enjoy at their 2024 event! Taking place on 12th-13th & 19th-27th October 2024 from 9am-5pm, the patch offers a fun filled family day out for all ages!

Visitors can pick their own pumpkins from two large patches full of original orange pumpkins to specialist squashes to great gourds of all different shapes and sizes! Over 300 varieties are grown on site, which can also be found in the covered Pumpkin Market in Bell’s Gardening Outlet along with recipe cards and display inspiration.

You can even carve your pumpkin with their team, and leave the mess behind! There are some brand new photo stations for 2024, keep an eye on our social media for a reveal, and displays are full of selfie opportunities for all ages – make sure you get that important shot for your socials!

Bell’s Pumpkin Patch is home to the UK’s largest pumpkin cannon, the pumptastic master blaster! Take the opportunity to fire the cannon for charity, which has so far raised over £15,000 over the years shooting wonky pumpkins across the fields.

Children can enjoy the expanded assault course, ride on tractors, the tiny tots area, bouncy inflatable pumpkin and potato catapults, tug of war, plus garden games to challenge every family member. As well as the bounce and climb area full of hay bales to explore and the Singing Pumpkins too – all included in your admission tickets; along with complimentary cheek art, with the team painting youngster’s faces free of charge!

All ages can enjoy exploring the Maize Maze, just make sure you don’t take a wrong turn and end up down a dead end! Hop on board and take a ride on a guided tractor tour (weather dependent), where your guide will explain how grow millions of pumpkins per year commercially and all of the work that goes in from field to fork!

Taking place on the first weekend, the giant pumpkin competition celebrates efforts from hobbiest growers to seasoned horticulturists, as well as entries from local primary schools to win the coveted heaviest pumpkin award trophy, kindly sponsored by the NFU and Duckworth Land Rover.

The 2024 event sees the Makers Market return after a popular first year, expect local food producers, artists and craft sellers exhibiting their wares each day, traders change daily due to availability – however there is a mixture of local spirits, cakes and bakes and much more as well as jewellery, candles, home decor, and a variety of gifts on offer!

For the third year running, Circus Skills entertainer Ady returns – expect stilts shows, shows, ride on unicycles, balloon models and much more for children to watch and even take part in too!

The funfair makes a welcome return this October, meet Tilly the fairground dog, take a swing on the High Striker, test your balance on our Rodeo Pumpkin, fly on the children’s Chair-o-Planes, take a ride on the Gallopers, test out the new exciting Electric Yachts or see amazing views from the Big Wheel!

Foodies will enjoy a variety of food and drink from the catering court – including Vegan, Vegetarian, Dairy Free and Gluten Free options. Undercover areas are dotted throughout the event providing shelter from the elements.

The event is dog friendly so bring your pooch along to the pumpkin patch! The catering area will have dog bowls on hand and find some yummy treats for four legged friends in our Makers Market too!
