A popular businessman has left his village in shock following his sudden passing.
The village of Swineshead is in mourning following the tragic passing of Phil Brown.
Phil, a charismatic individual was known throughout the area for his kind heart, alongside his business, Phil Brown Roofing.
Less than one week ago, Phil pledged to donate £100 to five pensioners in Swineshead to help them stay warm this winter following the Governments announcement to abolish the Winter Fuel Allowance.
Phil made his offer of support to villagers and was featured on BBC Look North and BBC Radio Lincolnshire, followed by a friend of Phil’s, former professional footballer Dennis Peacock, pledging to match his £500 donation.
Since then, another £200 has been added to the total, thanks to £100 pledges from Phil’s stepfather and a friend.
A post on Swineshead’s Community Page by Michael Tyler read: “As some of you will already be aware, our beloved Phil Brown has sadly passed away.
Phil was larger than life character, extremely well thought of by so many in Swineshead and Boston for his acts of support to the local community.
“This is a really difficult time for us as a family, but we wanted to let people know so everyone can begin to process this huge loss.
We will be organising a memorial service in a few weeks time and we will update on this page with the details as soon as we can.
“Thank you all so much for all the kind messages and calls, it means so much to us all.”
