Two crews from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue have closed off part of Boston Market Place as they respond to an incident.

A crew from Boston Fire Station and one from Donington Fire Station were seen in the towns Market Place shortly after 4pm today (Monday 23rd September) promoting an area around Nationwide Building Society to be sectioned off and hoses drawn from both appliances.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said: “We were called at 15:49 to an alarm activation at a commercial premises. Two crews are still in attendance.

“There doesn’t seem to be any sign of fire, but the crews have used ladders and thermal imaging cameras to check the loft area above the false ceiling on the ground floor to try and determine the cause of the alarm activation.”

A spokesperson for Nationwide Building Society replied on Tuesday and said: “We are aware of an incident at the Boston branch yesterday, following a thorough check and maintenance the branch is open as normal.”
