A Lincolnshire based Academy Trust has recognised achievements of its students in a regional awards ceremony.
South Lincolnshire Academies Trust, who own and operate two schools within the Boston area hosted an awards presentation evening at Spalding’s Springfields Events & Conference Centre recently in order to celebrate and rewards students for their hard work, dedication and achievements.
Students, parents and staff from Giles Academy, Bourne Academy, Cowley Academy and Spalding Academy came together on Thursday 12th September 2024, to celebrate the achievements of former Year 11 and Year 13 students in a special Upper School Awards Evening.
The prestigious event, that included all four schools in South Lincolnshire Academies Trust, welcomed over 350 students and parents in attendance, compered by James Hind, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Libby Barber, Associate Director of Post-16 and Careers.
Before the awards commenced, attendees were treated to live music performances from Sixth Formers Tegan Wyche, Danny Petherick, Will Robbins, Jared Knight and Seb Glover with support from Jack Brindley (Head of Music at Bourne Academy). Throughout the evening, Stephen Barrett (Head of Music at Spalding Academy), Lillianna Armstrong (Head of Music at Cowley Academy) and former Spalding Academy student Neo Geyer provided additional music as students collected their awards.
Awards were presented by the Heads of School for all subject categories as well as Most Improved Student, Highest Attainment and Overall Achievement.
Lucy Conley, Chief Executive Officer for South Lincolnshire Academies Trust concluded the evening by saying “I would like to congratulate each and every one of the students on their success. It has been an incredible journey for our students and also for the families and who provided support – you all deserve to be immensely proud of yourselves. I believe that your drive and determination in life and the impact you have on other will define your success in the future. Congratulations, and best of luck on the next adventure of your lives.”
