Police have issued an appeal for information following a serious collision on Woodville Road yesterday (Saturday 28 March), which saw the Co-op store taped off and a large emergency service presence at the scene.
The incident, logged as Incident 299 of 28 March, relates to a collision between a car and a pedestrian. The road was closed for a period while emergency services responded.
Lincolnshire Police confirmed their force control room received a call at 3.27pm reporting that an elderly woman had been struck by a vehicle, which is alleged to have failed to stop at the scene.
The woman’s injuries have been described as serious.
A 28-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of a collision and dangerous driving.
The officer leading the investigation is now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam or other recorded footage of the incident, or the moments leading up to it, to come forward.
