Volunteers from across Boston have been recognised for their outstanding dedication to Scouting at a special awards evening held at Burghley House last week.

The prestigious event celebrated the incredible contributions made by local volunteers, who give their time to support young people across the district.

Among those honoured, Jackie Adamson was awarded the Silver Acorn for outstanding contribution to Scouting.

Dave May and Tracy Chapman each received a Bar to the Silver Acorn, recognising their continued exceptional service and commitment over many years.

The evening also saw Guy Dix and Norma Daft presented with the Silver Wolf — the highest award given to Scout volunteers in the UK. The accolade recognises service of the most exceptional nature over a prolonged period, highlighting a lifelong dedication to Scouting and its values.

The evening brought together volunteers from across the region, shining a spotlight on the dedication, passion and hard work that underpins Scouting in Boston.

Rob Johnson, District Lead Volunteer for the Boston Scouting District, said: “It was a fantastic evening celebrating some truly remarkable individuals. These awards recognise not only the time and effort our volunteers give, but the lasting difference they make to young people across Boston. To see our volunteers recognised at such a high level is something we are incredibly proud of.

“Scouting simply wouldn’t exist without the commitment of volunteers, and these awards highlight the very best of what our community has to offer. Congratulations to everyone who received recognition, it is thoroughly deserved.”

The awards serve as a powerful reminder of the vital role volunteers play in delivering opportunities, skills and experiences for young people, helping to shape confident, capable individuals for the future.

Boston VIBE congratulates all of the award recipients for their incredible achievements and continued commitment to the community.
