About Boston VIBE

Boston VIBE is a fast-growing independent digital news platform dedicated to reporting breaking and positive stories across Boston and the wider Lincolnshire area. With tens of thousands of monthly readers and a highly engaged social media audience, Boston VIBE has quickly become one of the region’s most recognisable local media brands.

As part of our continued expansion, we are preparing to launch Boston VIBE in Print – a high-quality print edition that will bring the town’s news, stories and business community together in a professionally produced publication distributed across Boston.

To support this exciting growth, we are seeking a motivated Self-Employed Sales Executive to join our commercial team. This is a commission-based opportunity suited to an ambitious individual who enjoys building relationships with local businesses and generating new commercial partnerships.


The Role

The Sales Executive will play a key role in generating advertising and sponsorship revenue across Boston VIBE’s platforms. This includes advertising within the upcoming Boston VIBE in Print publication, the Boston VIBE website and digital channels, as well as sponsorship opportunities across our events and partner brands.

Initially, this is a home-working role with flexible hours, however the successful candidate will be expected to actively engage with businesses across Boston and the surrounding areas, developing strong relationships and securing long-term advertising partnerships.

To begin with, the position is offered on a self-employed, commission-only basis, with generous earning potential linked directly to performance.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Advertising Sales

  • Identify and approach potential advertisers across Boston and Lincolnshire.

  • Generate new advertising revenue for Boston VIBE’s digital platforms and the forthcoming Boston VIBE in Print publication.

  • Promote advertising packages including display adverts, sponsored features, digital advertising and branded content.

  • Develop relationships with local businesses, organisations and community groups.

  • Proactively generate leads through networking, outreach, cold calling, email campaigns and in-person meetings.

Client Relationship Management

  • Act as the main point of contact for advertisers throughout their campaign lifecycle.

  • Provide professional account management to ensure advertisers receive excellent service and measurable value.

  • Build long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat advertising and ongoing partnerships.

  • Ensure client expectations are clearly managed and delivered.

Campaign Coordination

  • Liaise with Boston VIBE’s design team to ensure advertising artwork is produced to the correct specifications.

  • Ensure all client advertising artwork is approved and signed off ahead of publication deadlines.

  • Coordinate with the IT and web development team to ensure digital advertisements are correctly implemented online.

  • Work with editorial and production teams to ensure sponsored content and advertising placements are delivered as agreed.

Commercial Opportunities & Partnerships

  • Support the growth of Boston VIBE’s wider commercial activities, including:

    • Sponsorship packages for community events and business awards.

    • Advertising opportunities within Boston VIBE in Print.

    • Digital advertising and promotional campaigns.

  • There will also be opportunities to work alongside Boston VIBE’s sister businesses, including securing sponsorship and commercial partnerships for events such as:

    • Best of Boston Awards

    • Community events and business networking initiatives

    • Future media and event projects.

Sales Administration

  • Maintain accurate records of leads, sales activity and client communications.

  • Track advertising bookings and campaign delivery.

  • Ensure all commercial agreements are clearly documented and communicated internally.


Working Arrangement

  • Self-employed / commission-based role

  • Home-working position with flexible hours

  • Field-based networking and meetings across Boston and surrounding areas encouraged

  • Full sales materials and product information will be provided


Earnings Potential

This role is commission based, with earnings linked directly to advertising and sponsorship revenue generated. The structure allows high-performing individuals to build a strong and sustainable income by developing a portfolio of advertising clients.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Experience in sales, advertising, media, marketing or business development (preferred but not essential)

  • Confidence approaching local businesses and decision makers

  • A proactive and self-motivated attitude

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills

  • The ability to work independently in a home-working environment

  • An interest in the local community and business landscape

Knowledge of advertising, publishing or digital media sales would be advantageous but not essential.
