Oisin Gallagher’s first half strike was in vain as Boston United relinquished a winning position to lose their final match of 2025.

Brackley Town left the Jakemans Community Stadium with maximum spoils – despite Gallagher’s 44th minute opener.

Zak Brown equalised six minutes after half-time and Ben Wodskou scored the winner 16 minutes from time.

The first half was a cagey affair, with United shading proceedings, although Dylan Hill had to provide a timely block to deny ex-Pilgrim Scott Pollock in the fourth minute.

Pollock was one of three former United favourites to line-up for the Saints, alongside Cameron Gregory and Shane Byrne, and all three picked up yellow cards during the evening.

Adam Crowther’s header deflected wide at the back post from a Frankie Maguire cross, while Michael Nottingham was well-positioned to repel a firm Maguire drive.

United took the lead a minute before half-time when GALLAGHER got across his man to fire Maguire’s corner goalwards, with Kyle Morrison’s touch carrying the ball over the line.

Brackley levelled six minutes after the break when Killian Barrett failed to hold a routine cross and BROWN stooped to head home from close-range.

Barrett redeemed himself somewhat with a terrific save to deny Matt Lowe, but was powerless to stop WODSKOUcrashing home what turned out to be the winning goal in the 74th minute.

Ken Aboh and Kieren Donnelly were introduced either side of Wodskou’s goal – but United were unable to penetrate a determined Brackley rearguard.
