Hundreds of properties remain without electricity tonight following a fault on the high voltage power network affecting parts of the Boston area.

The power cut was first reported at 22:45, with more than 1,500 properties initially impacted. National Grid engineers were dispatched immediately and have since restored power to 1,455 homes, leaving 384 properties still without supply.

Engineers continue to work at the scene, with power currently expected to be restored by 12:30am on Tuesday 30th December 2025, although this may change depending on site conditions.

The following postcodes are affected by the outage:

PE21 7AY, PE21 7EN, PE21 7EP, PE21 7ER, PE21 7ES, PE21 7EU, PE21 7EW, PE21 7EX, PE21 7EZ, PE21 7FG, PE21 7GD, PE21 7GE, PE21 7GF, PE21 7GQ, PE21 7HB, PE21 7HE, PE21 7HF, PE21 7HG, PE21 7HJ, PE21 7HQ, PE21 7JP, PE21 7JW.

In a statement, National Grid said: “We’re working to restore power to your area. We became aware of this power cut at 22:45 and immediately began work to restore your supply. We understand how disruptive this is and sincerely apologise for the impact on your day. Our engineers are working to get your power back on as quickly as possible.”

Residents are advised to keep electrical appliances switched off where possible and to check on vulnerable neighbours while the outage continues.
