A Boston Borough Council owned road sweeper has been involved in an incident within the grounds of St. Botolph’s Church this morning, whilst undertaking routine maintenance ahead of the Remembrance Sunday parade this weekend.
A post on the local authorities social media platforms said: “While undergoing routine maintenance work around Boston Stump ahead of Remembrance Sunday, the foundations of a historic drain unfortunately gave way while undergoing these works.
We are working closely with the Parish of Boston and the Diocese of Lincoln on this matter in making this area safe as soon as possible. We appreciate everyone’s understanding on this matter.”
Recovery of the road sweeper and the repairs to the collapsed drain are underway.
