More than 950 properties in Boston have been left without electricity this morning following a power cut affecting several key areas of the town.
National Grid confirmed that the outage was first reported at 9:21am and teams are currently working to restore power as quickly as possible. The issue is expected to be resolved by 11:00am.
A total of 951 properties are currently off supply, with affected areas including Wide Bargate, John Adams Way, Pen Street, Maud Street, Willoughby Road, Hospital Lane, Linden Way, and Spilsby Road.
The power cut has also caused significant disruption to traffic signals across the town. Commuters are being urged to approach all junctions with extra caution while traffic lights remain out of action.
Intermittent signals are currently impacted at the junctions including:
- Main Ridge
- Pen Street
- Wide Bargate / Tawney Street
- Spilsby Road / Willoughby Road / Frieston Road
A spokesperson for National Grid said “We are aware of the power cut affecting parts of Boston. The incident was raised at 9:21am and our engineers are working to get the power returned as quickly as possible. We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing.”
