An area surrounding St Botolph’s Church in Boston was cordoned off earlier this morning following a police-led incident that drew a significant emergency response.

The incident, which unfolded in the early hours, saw access restricted between Wormgate and the St Botolph’s footbridge for several hours. Ambulances were first to arrive at the scene, but later departed as police and forensic teams continued their investigation into the late morning.

Officers sealed off the area while forensic specialists were seen gathering evidence within the cordon. The exact nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed by Lincolnshire Police.

By 11am, the cordon was lifted and normal access through the town centre resumed.

Boston VIBE has contacted Lincolnshire Police for an official statement and will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
