Residents of Boston were treated to a spectacular sight this afternoon as the world-famous Red Arrows soared across the town’s skies, en route to join the VE Day commemorative flypast over Buckingham Palace.

At approximately 1:10pm, the distinctive roar of the Hawk jets echoed over Witham Way Country Park, drawing the attention of walkers, families, and local photographers who paused to witness the thrilling moment. The eight jets, flying in tight formation, made their way south from RAF Waddington as part of a carefully planned national tribute marking Victory in Europe Day.

The Red Arrows’ flight is one of many aerial displays taking place across the country today to honour the sacrifices made during the Second World War and to celebrate peace in Europe.

The iconic display team, officially known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, has long been associated with British patriotism and remembrance events. Their presence over Boston provided a poignant and proud reminder of the RAF’s role in British history and the continuing connection between Lincolnshire and the country’s aviation heritage.

The flypast will culminate with a dramatic pass over Buckingham Palace, where members of the Royal Family and invited veterans will gather to mark the occasion.
