The 900th Boston May Fair has been officially opened by Rector of the Parish of Boston, Fr David Stephenson, Mayor of Boston, Councillor Helen Staples, and winner of the Golden Ticket,

Following the short 15 minute ceremony held on the Carousel, members of the Civic party, including various councillor’s, the Mayor, The Rector, Leader of Boston Borough Council, Chief Inspector of Lincolnshire Police and representatives from the Showman’s Guild enjoyed a ride on the gallopers, Dodgems and Waltzers.

The Boston May Fair has been in operation in the heart of the town for 900 years, and is now rated as on eon the top five street fairs in the country. The fair is also obliged to happen each May through a Royal Charter.

This year’s event, running for 8 days, will be open during the following times:

  • Saturday 3rd May: 12pm – 10.30pm
  • Sunday 4th May: 11am – 9pm
  • Monday 5th May: 11am – 10pm
  • Tuesday 6th May: 3pm – 10pm
  • Wednesday 7th May: 3pm – 10pm
  • Thursday 8th May: 3pm – 10pm
  • Friday 9th May: 3pm – 10pm
  • Saturday 10th May: 11am – 10.30pm
  • Sunday 11th May: 11am – 8pm

Quiet times across the whole site will take place on Sunday 4th and Sunday 11th May between 11am and 1pm.
