A Boston family faced a terrifying ordeal last night, as windows and vehicles were attacked on a Boston street.
Residents of Kitwood Road, Boston, took to social media to raise concerns after “gunshots” were heard in the street. Photos of damage to window panes and vehicles were later posted, and this morning, a photo of a “ball bearing” was further posted onto social networks.
Genevieve Hibbert said: “So while me and my family sat in our lounge this evening around 7pm we heard a popping noise on our window. My husband went to check the widow and outside and couldn’t see anything. It happened a few more times and then suddenly a very loud pop!
We went outside and saw our window had been shot at and after a look around our house so have our cars. Our lounge window is broken, our car window is broken and one second car is covered in dents! We called the police and they still haven’t come out to us, they say it’s at category 2 and they will eventually send someone out when they have someone available.
We have a 4 week old baby and a 4 year old here at home.”
A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “Officers are investigating reports of criminal damage to house windows and two cars on Kitwood Road in Boston which occurred yesterday evening, Thursday 16 January, between 6pm and 7pm.
“We have retrieved a ball bearing from the scene which we believe to be responsible for the damage. Inquiries remain ongoing. Officers will be conducting house to house enquiries in the vicinity today.
“We are appealing for any information that may assist our inquiries, as well as any dashcam or doorbell footage that may have captured anything of note from the time of the incident.”
According to posts on social media, approximately 8 rounds were fired at vehicles causing dints, with a further 2 at a residential property.
