Boston RiverCare used their social media platforms to share the success of their recent litter-picking event along the River Haven and Windsor Bank, where an incredible 30 bags of rubbish were collected during low tide. The event, held on a frosty Friday morning, brought together a dedicated team of volunteers to make a tangible difference in the local community and environment.

In the post on Facebook, the group extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who braved the icy weather to contribute to this effort. Volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure the area was cleaner and safer for wildlife and residents alike. Their collective commitment has once again highlighted the power of community action in preserving Boston’s natural beauty.

Special thanks go to Sally Bird of RiverCare & BeachCare and Stephen Bromby, Asda’s Community Champion, for joining the initiative. Their support, along with that of the Wyberton Wombles of Boston Common, was instrumental in making the day such a resounding success.

Following the clean-up, the 30 bags of rubbish collected were promptly removed by Boston Borough Council, showcasing the importance of collaborative efforts between local organisations and authorities.

A spokesperson for Boston RiverCare said:
“What a great morning! It was heartwarming to see so many people come together with a shared passion for protecting our environment. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this initiative a success.”

Boston RiverCare continues to encourage residents to get involved in future events to maintain the health and cleanliness of the River Haven and surrounding areas.
