Boston College Hosts Festival of Learning at RAF Cranwell, Inspiring Lifelong Learning and Career Development
Boston College successfully hosted its Festival of Learning at RAF Cranwell, welcoming RAF personnel, civil servants, and their families to explore the wide array of educational and career development opportunities available at the college
Designed to support both resettlement career options and the enhancement of current professional skills, the event brought together Boston College’s course areas and resources to offer a unique, hands-on learning experience for the Cranwell community.
The Teaching and Learning Department presented the College’s adult education programmes, including degree-level courses and the PGCE Teacher Training offer. Whilst in Engineering, demonstrations on digital printing, accompanied promotions of HNC/HND qualifications. The newly launched Business School of Applied Leadership and Management highlighted its leadership, coaching, and emerging leaders’ programmes, as well as the innovative Zero Carbon Mastery Bootcamp focused on sustainable practices.
The Catering Department engaged attendees with mocktail and cold brew tastings to promote Level 2 Barista and Food Safety courses, while the Business and Accountancy Department introduced qualifications ranging from Introductory Bookkeeping to Level 4 Professional Accountancy. Other highlights included employability sessions featuring air-frying demonstrations for family-friendly cooking and an interactive digital education experience showcasing virtual reality in teaching and an HGV driving simulator.
The Festival of Learning provided an inspiring day of exploration, engagement, and skill-building for all who attended, reaffirming Boston College’s commitment to fostering lifelong learning.
