Children from families in Boston and Lincoln who are being supported by their local foodbank are being given Easter eggs thanks to a donation from a local housebuilder.

Lincolnshire-based company Chestnut Homes has given 100 Easter eggs to Boston and Lincoln Foodbanks, to be added to their nutritionally balanced food parcels.

The two foodbanks are part of nationwide network supported by the Trussell Trust, a charity that works to end hunger and poverty in the UK. They provide three-day emergency food parcels to those in need, as well as providing users with toiletries and other additional items, such as pet food.

Boston Foodbank is based at Blenkin Memorial Hall in Wormgate, while Lincoln Foodbank has four distribution centres across the city.

It has been wonderful to receive this donation and it really helps us to provide something extra for our clients this Easter that we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to do.

Our clients will receive an Easter egg as an additional extra within their food parcel and I am sure many of the clients and their children will appreciate this as a very nice surprise.
