A fire at a residential property in Boston town centre resulted in the closure of a Boston street this afternoon.

The fire, located on Witham Place, resulted in a response from Fire Crews from Boston’s Fire Station and additional resources from Kirton Fire Station, accompanied by the attendance of Lincolnshire Police and East Midlands Ambulance Service.

A statement issued by Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue read:

2 crews from Boston Fire Station and Kirton Fire Station attended a house fire on Witham Place, Boston. Severe damage by fire to a wooden airing cupboard, severe damage by heat to ceiling and window and severe damage by smoke to remainder of property.

Crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reels, 2 thermal imaging cameras and small tools to extinguish.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue

A tweet on Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue’s official Twitter feed stated that the call was received at 2.45pm.

Lincolnshire Police and East Midlands Ambulance Service have also been approached for a comment but hadn’t responded at time of publication.
