A 20 year old Boston woman is in the running to become the next Miss Lincolnshire.

Mia Rothwell, is a student at University of Westminster and is studying international business, Arabic and Spanish.

Mia also models and shoots for various fashion and commercial companies and intends to use the contest to promote awareness of dementia and is dedicated to creating events to help raise funds for research. Accompanied by her modelling and intention to promote awareness, Mia would also like to help children in impoverished countries around the world.

“I'm excited to be representing Boston in the Miss Lincolnshire competition. I hope that, if successful in becoming Miss Lincolnshire, I will be able to assist in returning the town to being a vibrant and exciting location, where everyone feels welcome and at home.

Alongside my university work, I occupy my time with modelling, travelling not only around the country, but the world, enjoy my fitness too, and also run my own beauty business too, however I am dedicated to offering support to friends, families and those further afield through emotional and physical assistance, and I hope that I will be able to influence others to join me in helping their communities to engage and interact together.

For me, Miss Lincolnshire isn’t just a title, it would be a huge accomplishment to have the honourable title.”

Miss Lincolnshire as a beauty pageant has run for over 30 years. This year the event was due to be staged with a live audience at the Hilton Hotel in Lincoln. Instead, each contestant is being asked to record videos of their introduction,  catwalk round in evening gown/ dress and talent or charity round.  The videos will form part of an online show with a professional judging panel to be broadcast in January

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, voting methods for the Miss Lincolnshire title are available by downloading the new Miss England app. Click here to download.

If successful, Mia will be the second consecutive Boston resident to be named as Miss Lincolnshire, following in the footsteps of Bhasha Mukherjee, who is currently Miss England, and, until recently, a junior doctor at Boston’s Pilgrim Hospital.
