10, 9, 8….. the countdown begins for Boston’s Christmas Lights switch on. The families are gathered round the stage, 7,6,5,4…. The Market Place is crowded with people of all ages and communities, 3,2,1….. CHEERS and CLAPS spread across the whole of Town and the Town’s Christmas lights are on.

The Town is normally filled with people today for the Boston Christmas Market, Lights Switch on and Illuminate Parade and it is hard imagine the Christmas period without the official light switch-on but you don’t have to. This year for the first time, we bring you a Virtual Christmas Lights switch on with Christmas In Boston.

The non-profit community team have been working hard still preparing the lights for the Town and whilst we can’t all come together and fill the Market Place we can enjoy their hard work. Boston Borough Council and Christmas In Boston worked with Electric Egg to create this fantastic virtual lights switch on video funded by Boston Town Area Committee for people to enjoy a virtual switch on.

“It is such a shame we have to cancel the ever popular Christmas event in Boston but I would like to thank Christmas in Boston once again for lighting up our Town and hope it brings lights and joy to many families in these difficult times”

Councillor Paul GoodaleChairman - Boston Town Area Committee
